Road resurfacing will begin on West Kawailani Street from Kanoelani Street to the ‘Āinaola Drive & Pōhakulani Street intersection Wednesday, April 17 to Friday, April 19, weather permitting.

Special off duty police officers will direct traffic from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Motorists should expect delays due to alternating one-lane closures and anticipate longer delays of 10-minutes or more on South Iwalani Street.

All lanes on West Kawailani will remain open to motorists from 3:30 PM to 8:30 AM.

Hawaiian Telcom and the Department of Public Works have relocated utilities in preparation of future work from Kanoelani to Kuhilani Street, and portions of ‘Āinaola. This $1 million project began in 2012 and is partly funded by the Federal Highway Administration, utility companies, and the County of Hawai‘i.
